Productivity with my Family!

So, in my post earlier, I explained that I was having a slight "writers block" moment and it was beginning to affect me! Luckily, I have an awesome family that constantly show me support and are always willing to lend a helping hand.

My Brother, Sister in law and Mother all sat in my living room giving me ideas, constructive criticism and ethusiasm GALORE!

We came up with some great ideas for 2 new songs I'm writing and thankfully my doubt and negative thoughts for this track have been replaced with confident, positive and exciting ones ;)

Tomorrow I'll be recording some vocals for a friend of mine then heading straight to training, but I know I'll be looking forward to getting home and working on my songs!

You can't write when you're stressed!

Hey Guys!

I've been spending time bonding with my iPad 2! I'm defo in LOVE! I hardly use my laptop (sadtimes) and it just collects dust in my room!
I purchased some music apps that are amazing and  i'm having a great time learning how to use them.

I've been song writing...but over the last week have been a little stressed which is definitely having an effect on my music, writers block is an understatement. I've been saying I "Can't" which isn't helping so this evening i'm going to do some positive thinking and crack on :)

I'm also planning to record an acoustic video with my guitarist  for my blog and You Tube page so keep checking in!

Missing Person?!!

Where have I been?!! This blog has been completely neglected...NY kept me busy :)

I arrived back in London Town on Monday 15th of August and since then have just been trying to get back into the swing of things. Getting back to our time zone was somewhat a challenge but life here is a lot more chilled in comparison to what I was doing in the Hamptons, New York.

I felt that my time out there was going by super fast and didn't really write much songs! But I'm home now, back on the time zone, back to work and most importantly back to music!

I'm extremely optimistic about the remainder of the year and feel that if i really focus and put my mind to it, i'll be Living my Dream...

NY Preparation!

Hey Guys, It's been a while since I've blogged!

What's new with me...I had a great weekend away in Portugal :) The Sun was shining, I ate great food and felt rested (as well as 3lbs heavier lol).

I'll be jetting of to NY on Sunday! Defo looking forward to it as the weather in London is very depressing.
I'll be away for 3weeks and have set myself some music tasks that I feel are achievable so I'll be getting down to business.

Yesterday I had a jamming session with my Guitarist. We sung through some of my songs and tried out a couple that I might like to cover.

I plan to do a few gigs so keep posted for info about that when I get back from the Big Apple!

Regular day...

Today has been pretty normal!...

I was up at 5.30am for a 7am session (always a killer) and had another session after and was done!

I came home had a nap and continued packing for my weekend away to Faro in Portugal, I'm too excited lol! Sun, Sea and No work...it's gonna be awesome :)

I've haven't done much song writing, just bits and pieces here and there but nothing that I feel I can really make a full song out of...

My plan for the rest of the eve is to...

-do some more packing
-eat dinner whilst watching Luther
-bath
-song writing (after my bath I always feel like I'm relaxed and my brain is in gear, hence why I write so late!)
-bed

Wireless Festival!

On Friday, a friend of mine mentioned that there were still tickets for The Wireless Festival so I seized my opportunity and got booking :)

The weather was great and the atmosphere was awesome! Just loads of people coming together to appreciate music.

I'm a big fan of Janalle Monae and she performed yesterday and was AMAZING!! She is so creative and has really different approach to performing. It's very animated and at times unusual but I think she's fabulous. She creates stories and really tries to transport you there! At one point she had the entire crowd kneeling!! So awesome!

I also saw Katy B and J-cole amongst others and had a great time.

My Beyonce Experience!!

Hey Guys!

Yesterday was possibly 1 of the best evenings of my life!
I was invited as a guest of 1 of my clients to see Beyonce live at the Shepherds Bush Empire for a secret gig! 


I was completely freaking out as Beyonce is my IDOL! I'm so inspired by her music and I admire her performance skills so I was over the moon when I got the invite :)

I arrived at the venue and was given a VIP pass and headed up to the seating area where drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was buzzing.
I wasn't sure where I'd be sitting so I spruced around and spotted a few familiar faces.

After a while I was escorted to the reserved seating area. Soon after, the fans standing below started to scream as Adele entered. Jessie J, Tinie Tempah and Alexis Jordon entered shortly after.

Then...Gwyneth Paltrow (my client) and Jay-Z walked in and took their seats. I was then escorted over to sit beside Gywneth and before I knew it Beyonce was on stage!!!

I actually couldn't cope! She completely rocked my world! 

Beyonce's performance was incredible! Her live vocals were out of this world and she danced with every ounce of her body! She just gives it her ALL and is a born entertainer.

I was screaming and singing along the entire time and was in my element!

After the show, I went to the VIP lounge had some Champagne and was introduced to Jay-Z who was convinced we had met before ( I think i'd remember that lol). He was a really nice Guy. Down to earth and so proud of his wife.

Last but not least, I was taken to Beyonce's dressing room where I was introduced (at this point I COULD NOT believe she was in front of me!)... I said...

"Hi Beyonce...well done for tonight, you were amazing...I love you!" lol I had to tell her! haha!!! She shook my hand and said thank you.

She was gorgeous in the flesh and seemed very humble, I just couldn't believe that i'd met her!

That's it guys! I had the most amazing night! I was hanging with A-listers and got star treatment all night.

It was definitely a taster of what's to come for me :)

Finished!

So I managed to finish the song I was writing woo hoo! I personally don't think it's up there with some of the better songs that I've written but at least I'm writing...

I've found another instrumental that I plan to write to but I'll get started on that song tomorrow after work.

It's practically FRIDAY!!! yaaay! It has been an exhausting week for me I cant wait to have a lie in on Saturday :)

Full on!

I've had a crazy busy day today! But I'm now home and have done all the boring stuff, washing, work prep etc. I also had some time to unwind and watch 'Luther'. I hardly watch TV but I can't miss my Luther lol such a captivating programme!

I started writing a song last night and my aim this evening is to complete it. I was actually on a roll writing it last night but I had to be up at 5.40am and if i went bed any later than I had I don't think I would've been able to function.

I'm signing out to go write...Night...xx

Brainstorming

This evening I decided ask my Mum to help me brainstorm some song ideas. She was totally drifting off track and actually started rapping and singing them, imagine that loool! Her ideas weren't necessarily what I wanted to hear but some of the things she was coming up with helped me to draw some ideas from my own mind!

I have some good song concepts and i'm about to get cracking with my writing for this eve!

Although I do have a headache at the moment and I'm really hoping it goes away because when your head has a pulse, it's kind of hard to focus lol....xx

Busy week ahead!

So I've just been looking at my schedule for this week and it's going to be a busy one! However I'm quite excited because this is a test for me to see how much I can actually accomplish and how well I can function after my hectic work days.

I've arranged a jamming session for tomorrow evening with my guitarist as we haven't had one in a few weeks which is shocking!

I'm gonna crack on with my writing this week and hopefully I'll write some interesting songs, possibly some about how tired I am but I guess everyone will be able to relate to those lyrics lool!

Today has flown by!

I arrived home from work and had to send a few emails...before I knew it, it was 9pm! I was like..."wait, what just happened?" I was actually so confused and couldn't believe how time had flown!

I've pretty much completed all my boring tasks and now it's songtime :)


My first session isn't until 12 so not only can I have a bit of a lie in, I have a chance to be uber productive!

From Bad to Good :)

My day didn't get off to the best start but it gradually got better!

Today I've been listening to some great songs that have given me ideas and inspiration.

It's kinda late but i'm gonna do some writing and then head to bed. Don't really have much to say...So I'll leave you with one of my tracks of the moment '1+1' By Beyonce...x

Songwriting!

This evening my aim is to find the instrumentals for a few songs that are in my favs list and start writing!

Im gonna start in about 30mins as I have to have a bath, do my washing and pack as I'll be heading to Liverpool this weekend  :)

Anywhoo, I'm going to crack with all my tasks and hopefully tomorrow I'll blog about the amazing songs I wrote lol....x

Finishing touches.

So I only just got back home after heading to the studio straight from work. I had a few finishing touches that I felt needed to made to a few the tracks that I had recorded and I wanted them sorted ASAP.

I'm really happy with how the songs have ended up :) and am looking forward to getting back in the studio and recording more!

Haven't had a chance to write any songs today but I have written down some ideas for songs.
Even though I have an intense day tomorrow, I do have some breaks where I won't be travelling so my plan is to get stuck in whenever I can!....x

Meltdown!

So occasionally I have a meltdown!  My meltdowns consist of an evaluation of my life and loads of tears but I always manage to come back round other side being as positive as ever!

I'm so glad that I have the support of my Family and close friends because they're always there to give advice, lend a helping hand and encourage me to pursue my dreams.

They give me the little kick I often need to get back on track :)

When I write songs, I record bits and pieces on either my phone or my mic so I don't forget the melody. My Brother is always insisting I send the files to him or at least share an audio on my blog but I never listen lol.

I was writing this evening and recorded what I wrote but I have no idea whatsoever how to upload an audio! I tried to make a video but its not working out. I've been trying for like an hour!!

I'll try and figure it out and get some audio's up ASAP :)

Rain please GO AWAY!

Today hasn't been too manic! I had a 5.30am which is still a challenge, it just seems so early!

The weather hasn't exactly been helping motivate me very much! Rain, rain, rain.... since sunday! I'm just so over this country.

I've set a plan for this week and I'm aiming to get through everything. Its definitely achievable, I just need to be consistent (which is a huge problem of mine!)

My first session isn't until 10am tomorrow so I don't need to rush to bed!

I have my pen and notebook beside me on my dresser...time to write...x

Getting started

My day was so random!

1 client didn't show so I had a millon years to kill! I decided to do some window shopping and before I knew it i had to head to my next client.
I only had 2 sessions today but somehow it felt like I'd been working all day!

I done some writing this evening which is a good improvement. I've been listening to Sade's album and I'm feeling so inspired...Her music is timeless and her voice is beautiful.
If I could write songs like her I'd be 1 happy lady :)

Practise makes perfect!...x

I have to MAKE time!

What a crazy week it has been for me!
Training 4-5 clients a day is NOT easy and often leaves me feeling shattered. I just find it really hard to motivate myself when I know that I've had such a busy day.When get home I want to eat and go straight to bed!

For the last couple of weeks, work has been my excuse for not writing but it looks as if my schedule won't be easing up any time soon so I really need to get back into my music if I truly want to succeed.
There are definitely not enough hours in the day but I have to make time.

I hate writing my blog sometimes because it's not just for others to read it's for me sit back and analyse what steps i've actually made towards reaching my goal of becoming a recording artist. When I've done nothing or less than I'd hoped, I feel really disappointed in myself...

It is time to pick myself up and start being proactive because I know that what I put out DEFO comes back to me...With all that said I'm aiming to have a productive week.

Tired!

I've had such a long day!

My day started at 5.30am and I've trained 4 clients and have had several power naps to and from each session! I just need them lol, power naps keep me going!!

Music for me has been a bit slow...but I'm hoping to get on track this week.

It seems as if over the past few weeks I've been focusing on doing my 2 performances that I've  put writing to the back of mind which is definitely the last thing I should have done.
I should be writing something everyday no matter how big or small...

Consistency is my mantra, I need to start saying it again!

I'm still pretty excited that I was mentioned in US Vogue *happy dance* can't wait to buy the issue as memorabilia :)

Back to Business!

I can't believe I haven't blogged in a week! I suck!

I am officially getting stuck in as of today lol.

Musically I haven't been as productive as I would've like due to being so busy with work. My schedule of late has been crazy and after getting home from a long day I just want to sleep! I know that I have to make time for my music so I just need to make a concious effort and I'm sure I'll be fine :)

Changing the subject, a couple of months ago I trained an editor of US Vogue magazine, because she was writing an article on legs and the Tracy Anderson method.  Today I received a message from my sister explaining that she had mentioned me personally in this article, which was the most exciting news I've heard in a while.  Have a read of the article below and make sure you pick up a copy when it comes out in the UK next week.

Anyway I have a really early start tomorrow so I'll leave you to it.

'Sketch' Baby!

I'm still feeling great after doing a performance at Sketch yesterday evening.

A friend of mine decided to put together an event that incorporates both Music and Fashion.

Yesterday was the first VMF- Voice.Meets.Fashion event and I was uber excited to be apart of it.

Sketch is a really plush venue, with plenty of interesting themes throughout. I'd been there on a few occasions and was aware of the type of crowds they pull in so I was looking forward to see how the evening would turn out....

Yesterday was performance night and on top of having a busy work day, I had to rush home, spruce and prepare!

I had a lot of support from friends and family and I really appreciated everyone that come to watch me sing.

I sung 2 of my own songs and a cover of Beyonce's- Halo and was very pleased with the response from the audience. :)

I managed to get my brother to film this performance so I will get that video uploaded on here as soon as possible!

I'm going to continue to look for venues and events to perform at as I need to get some more experience. It really does feel awesome being up on the stage, holding the mic and singing the song in which I took time out to write...it feels even better when they're appreciated....

My 1st official Open Mic!

Over the last week I have been practising with Ben (my guitarist) for today's Open Mic Gig.

It took place at 'The Ritzy' in Brixton. The build up to today has been nerve racking but once I was singing I was fine. I think all our practising paid off as me and Ben were both really in sync and the performance went well.

I sung 3 songs...
- Flowing
- Because of You
- Jamming (Bob Marley Cover)

I got a great reception from the audience and lovely claps and cheers between each song!
It felt great being on stage singing away, I can defo get used to it!!!

My Family came to support and they all gave me some good feedback and i was glad that I done them proud...

Unfortunately I didn't get a proper video of my performance but I have another one on Monday so i'll be sure to film that.

Lets Sing!

Is it just me or does singing just sort you out? lol

Today I took out my Keyshia Cole album and have been singing away! I love her voice and her first album 'The Way It Is' is defo one of my favourites.

For some reason I felt really tired today, so this afternoon I had an awesome nap, spoke to my Gorgeous niece Lily via Skype and had another session with Benjamin (guitarist).

Haven't done any writing over the past couple days but hopefully I'll be inspired tomorrow.

Well I have an early start tomorrow and will be training some fun clients so I'm really looking forward to the day ahead!

Practice makes Perfect...

It felt great to have the day off today!

I had a lovely lie in and managed to get a last minute physio session in for my foot. It's practically better now so I'm extremely happy about that.

I felt like a bit of a loner today! I ate lunch at Nandos all alone...It did give me some time to reflect but it would've been nice to have had a bud to mingle with.

After Lunch, I came home and had a listen to the songs I recorded during the week and picked out parts that I wanted to change or enhance etc.

I have a performance coming up soon so I've been practising my set with Ben (my guitarist) constantly and I'm so  proud of what we have. We done a live stream via Skype for my Sister in New York and she really loved  the arrangement and I'm glad that I got some great feedback from her.

Fingers cross it all goes well! I'm sure it will if we carry on in this way...xx

Lazy with the blogging!

OMG! I have been uber lazy with the posts, not good!

Since my last post I've recorded 2 songs which is funtimes! I've had a few sessions with my guitarist and my set is really coming along.

I had a jamming session with him today and we just sang through the songs. It's so much fun knowing that we've made so much progress :)

I've not done much writing but i'm planning to do some tomorrow as I have a day off.

Hopefully I can keep up with my blog posts this week.

Back and Forth

I've been on the go ALL DAY!

I had a client this morning and after that I headed to Oxford Street to buy some workout clothes. I then came home and done some prep for my next session, trained another client, travelled back home and had to go back out to do food shopping with my Mum!!

I'm really tired...Music-wise I haven't been productive today at all but during my session with my guitarist yesterday we completed the acoustic accompaniment to my song 'Because of You'. 
It's taken us a while but it sounds really good and I can't wait to start getting out there and singing my songs for an audience :)

After my 2 clients tomorrow morning, I'll be heading to go and record a couple songs and I'll also be in the studio on Sunday, Can't wait!

But I need to get to bed ASAP, so goodnight...x

Quick post!

I'm up at 5.15 again tomorrow so I'm gonna be brief!

I've been working from 7am -5pm and my work is physical and I'm knackered. I didn't have time for a power nap so today has been a marathon.
My bed has been screaming my name all day and now I'm finally it, I just want to lay my head on my pillow.

No songwriting today :( but I had a session with my guitarist and we managed to complete the acoustic version of one of my songs. It was giving us a lot of trouble last week so I'm glad we achieved that this evening.

We have another session tomorrow so we'll run through some songs and really build up content.

Anyhoo, i'll keep you posted on how it goes, I'm off to catch som zzz's...x

It's ONLY Monday!

I'm sitting on my bed thinking 'Its ONLY Monday'...I feel exhausted already!

I had was meant to have 4 clients today but 1 cancelled so I had 3. My job takes a lot of energy and its not all the time you feel like working out, but somehow I managed to get through it :)

I haven't done any music today but I'm gonna do a bit now get to bed as I have to be up at 5.15!!

Just a regular Saturday!

Nothing much happened today, it was just regular Saturday (that rhymes! I should use that in a song lol)

I had a lie in, ate lots, Skyped my Sister in NY and listened to music.

A few friends of  mine were involved in a small play that would have a sort of Easter message and as I wasn't doing anything that was particularly exciting, I decided to go and watch...I'm really glad I did!
They performed so well and I was very entertained throughout.
At times it was very emotional and touching but it was balanced out with singing, music and some very funny moments!

I headed home and watched TV with my mum for a bit but I felt so guilty. I just kept thinking that I could've been using that time to be productive.
So I went in my room sang through some songs and started writing. I've almost finished the song but kept changing the concept, which ended up with my brain being exhausted. My aim is to complete it tomorrow and start on another.

Easter Time!

Happy Easter Everybody! Hope you had a great Good Friday :)

Unfortunately I was working this morning and had to be up at 5.30 for a 7am a session and after that was knackered, but I still had to train another client!

Once I got home, I had a little chat with my Mum, took a bath and a much needed nap.

I woke up to find that my Mum had prepared a traditional Caribbean Easter meal of fish and hard dough Jamaican bread, which was delicious!!


This evening I finished off 2 songs that I just couldn't in the past so I'm very happy about that! It just seemed that the lyrics wouldn't come to me but today the somehow did. I guess I'm feeling inspired...xx

Cruising in the Sunshine...

I had 2 clients today but a 2 and a half hour break in which i went to Hyde Park ate some lunch, done some prep for my upcoming session and before I knew it i had to head to my next client.
I didn't even get a chance to do any writing.

I actually haven't written anything in about 2 days which is poor!

The sun defo took it out of me and I came home and had a quick nap then had another session with my guitarist.
Things were a lot tougher today...We've been trying to work out an accompaniment to one of my songs but it's proving to be a lot harder than we thought.

We had a breakthrough on Monday but today was HARD, I wanted to pull my hair out. The verses sound beautiful but its the chorus that we're having trouble creating.

We'll do it! I have faith ;o)

Its my Mum's Bday tomorrow so I'm not sure what my afternoon/evening will consist of but I have work at 9.30 which isn't too early.

The longest day!

I think today was the longest day EVER!

I was up at 5.15 for work at 7am, worked out for 2 hours then headed home.

I then sorted my life out and headed to a recording session. I done some vocals for a producer/rapper friend of mine and although I was missing the gorgeous weather I wasn't particularly bothered as I was singing and that's my true love!
We went over a few things that I'll be recording next week so I'm very excited about recording 2 up-tempo tracks woohoo!

I was recording for several hours and considering I had such an early start I was knackered.

It just so happened that my train was stuck between Kilburn and Willesden Green station for 1 hour and 30 minutes...I was furious!
TFL then decided to suspend the Jubilee Line so I had to go on crazy mission and it took me at least 3 hours to get home. I was not impressed.

But one thing that did make up for it was that I got 2 gifts from a very important person...one of the gifts being 'Beats By Dre' headphones which are a beauty :)

Anywhoo tomorrow I have 2 clients and will be home by about 4pm so I can get to writing!...x

Bed Please?

Wow today has been non-stop!

I had physio at 1pm which was horrific! He literally had me in tears... the pain from the treatment was excruciating but I know it will help so I just had to sit there with tears streaming down my face. NOT FUN!

I then hobbled off to lunch with a friend. Not only was my foot sore but my hayfever was at its peak which left me with constant sneezing fits and watery, itchy eyes.

I had to rush home for a session with my guitarist. We had a breakthrough which was amazing, but it took a while...I'm just glad we achieved what we did :)

After few hours of music and trying to get everything right, I had to go and prep for work tomorrow which has now been pushed forward to 7am instead of 6.30am phew!! 
After work I'm heading to go and record some vocals., Not sure what time I'll be done.

It's a 5.15 start for me tomorrow so I MUST get to bed!...xx

Sunday!

I've had such a lovely day today! It was nice and sunny,  I went for lunch and then came home to rest my injured foot, which is getting better slowly!)
I have physio tomorrow so hopefully my foot heals and I can get back to work properly.

Today and yesterday weren't as productive as they needed to be but i'm aiming to make for it this week.

I'm free!

I'm really happy because I have the few days off work woohoo! I'll have plenty of time to write, sing and be productive! I also get to rest my injured foot which hopefully will be much better by the time I have my next session.

Yesterday I uploaded part 1 of my sporadic Open Mic venture but I managed to upload both parts onto You Tube so now I'm able to post the second part. If only my Mum hadn't been pressing buttons, could've got it in one take haha, bless her!

Out and about - My Open Mic experience

Yesterday I went to a music event called 'Wired'. It happens once a month and is basically an evening of showcasing upcoming talent.
I often go but hadn't been in a while and thought that yesterday was the right time to start again! Me deciding to go was very spontaneous, one minute I was helping my Mum prepare dinner, the next I was on a train!

I got to see some talented acts and the general vibe and atmosphere there is amazing.


This evening I headed out to an Open Mic night in Brixton. I wasn't planning on performing tonight, I just wanted to get a feel for the crowd and the event as this was a venue that I'd consider performing at in the next few weeks.

I dragged my Mother along to enjoy the music, spoken word and comedy event which turnt out to be a really cool place. Everybody was friendly and plesant and overall we had a nice evening.

Me and Mum...

During the 10 minute break, my Mum decided to go and speak to the host and sign me up. I was totally put on the spot but after 10mins of deliberating I decided to go up.

I had no guitarist or music with me so had to sing acapella which was a bit eeeky but I got a got reception after I sung.

I just watched through the videos and I think I look really tense lol but hey there's a first time for everything and when I sing there next month with my guitarist Ben, I'll hopefully be more relaxed :)

My mum is awful with technology so she cut the video halfway through and for some reason the second half wont upload :( but I'll try and get it on you tube tomorrow.

Bed Bound

So today is another beautiful day in London and I'm stuck in bed!

I'm the type of person that's always doing something, I don't like to be bored so I stay quite active so having to stay inside my house, in my room and on my bed just make's me feel like a recluse. I really have to try and stay off my foot, keep it elevated and rest in order for my injury to heal!

Having this time to rest does give me a chance to focus on my music which is definitely a plus side.

My aims today;

- to research a few artists
- download instrumentals
- do some songwriting

Sunshine in London Town...

What a lovely day it was in London!
I was absolutely loving the Sun today even though I wasn't able to be out in it all day! It was just nice having the sun beaming through my window, it made me feel that bit happier.

I feel really tired...I had a 6.30am start as I had to train a client at 8am. Unfortunately I realised that I had left my iPod at their house and they were no longer at home, UBER annoying!!  But I arranged to collect it in the afternoon which was another opportunity for me to catch some rays.

Once I got in for the second time I began to write and it was going really well, only then to receive a call from my Mum explaining that we had to do food shopping.
I've had plenty of distractions today but managed to get some writing done which I was happy about.

I'm currently being serenaded by Adele's album '21' which is fab. I'm completely shattered so I'm off to catch some Z's...xxx

Slowly but surely...

My day wasn't crazy, luckily! 

A hectic work schedule with an injured foot isn't exactly my idea of a good day but my injury hasn't been bothering me too much as I've been doing what my physio recommended and it seems to be helping. So I hopefully won't be feeling this discomfort for much longer.

I wrote a song this evening and I'm planning to write 2 tomorrow as i have a few ideas! 

I'm making progress and I'm going to really try and push myself this week as I'm the only person who can actually make me do it!!

Birthday Celebrations

Today I had work and I'm feeling pretty tired *yawn*

I've had a long day and it's been full of constant activity!

After work, I had to head down to Photofusion (a photographic studio in Brixton) where the jazz vocalist and trumpet player Abram Wilson was being photographed. There is an upcoming project that i was recommended for by my Uncle and I went there to meet everyone and took a few test shots.

I then had to rush off for my physio appointment for my injured foot which felt much better after the treatment but is feeling sore now so I spent the latter part of the evening sitting with ice on my foot...how exciting!

After physio, i headed back to the shoot to see how things were getting on and get some insight into the world of 'Jazz'.

My nephew turned 8 today so I went to my Brother's house for a little gathering, ate lots of snacks and probably put on about 3lbs!! lol

I'm now home, bathed and almost ready for bed.

Mothering Sunday!

Hey People! Haven't blogged since my awesome jamming session which is poor of me!
I got injured at work a few weeks ago but have just been working through it, but this week i done an intense cardio session and over did it and my foot has really started to hurt.

I've been in a lot of pain this weekend and managed to get a last minute physio session on Saturday morning which left my entire leg feeling achy . I've spent most of this weekend taking ibuprofen and icing my foot which isn't very exciting or inspiring!

My week isn't too hectic so I defo have time to make music :)

Today was Mother's Day! My brother's, niece and nephew came over to spend the day. I treated us to an Indian take away and Mum seemed to have a nice day. We also Skyped my sister in New York who sent my Mum a beautiful bunch of Tulips.

Now that's what I call Music...

Today has been quite busy for me as I've been up and down London working.
I'm tired and my muscles are sore,  however...somewhere between being tired and sore I managed to fit in some retail therapy and treated myself to loads of bits and pieces! I even came home and done a fashion show for myself lol!

This evening I had a jamming session with a Guitarist. OMG, I loved it! My songs came alive and the guitar added another dimension.
Having a live instrument present made me feel more connected and it definitely helped bring out my vocals.

My Guitarist was excellent. He took on board everything I asked and was even doing some improvisation which was just awesome!

I have no idea why i didn't do this before??
Not only can I write and make music with him, he has agreed to do open mic nights and gigs with me, woohoo!
I haven't done any performances just yet but defo see a bright future for us!

I cannot wait till our session next week :)
I'll be recording some of our sessions and posting them here and on You Tube so stay tuned...

Anyhoo, I have to be up at 5.30am so I need to sort my life out for work in the morning.

Cheeeeeessse!

I've just written a well cheesy song haha! But I'm feeling pretty uplifted :)

Its about not giving up and reaching for your dreams and I personally think that if you put your mind to something anything is possible!

Excitement!

I don't have much to say today!!...However,I'm UBER excited because I've arranged a jamming session with a guitarist.
Having live instruments can really give songs a different edge, so we're gonna have some fun tomorrow and create some melodies for new songs as well as working on some acoustic versions for the songs I have already written!

Also hoping to get in the studio either this weekend or sometime next week which is going to be fun fun fun!!

Now I'm off to do an hour of music then time for bed...x

What a day...

I tried my best to be productive today and I've done well!

I managed to blog earlier on today and uploaded another one of my songs called 'Flowing Through My Veins'. So far I've had some positive feedback and it feels great to know that the people that have listened appreciate my writing and singing.

I done some writing today...not as much as I would've liked but a good start. I will carry on tomorrow as I have a huge gap between Training.

I felt like i wasted a lot of time recording a video for You Tube. My aim was to upload a live video of me doing a cover and i chose Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep'. It's a great song and I've been hearing it loads on the radio, TV etc so thought it was a good choice. I'm uber critical of myself and won't upload anything that I'm not confident about. 

I done recording after recording and I wasn't sure about them so I need to get a second opinion from a family member as they're always honest and have my best interest at heart.

At some point my rendition of Adele's song will be put up, hopefully sooner than later!

I'd like to say a huge thanks to the Friends that have shared my blog and have continued to visit, I think you're ALL awesome!!!

Lets Get Busy...

Today my Clients cancelled so I'm seizing this opportunity to get some work done!

I have set myself some tasks today and I feel they're easy to accomplish considering I have plenty of time. The more the better, there is no limit on what I can achieve today...I'm excited!!!

Summer Time :)

I had a lovely weekend, hope you all did too!

Yesterday was the start of British Summertime woohoo! The weather can really dictate your mood so hopefully the Sun will be shining loads and I'll feel really inspired.

This week isn't looking crazy busy so I'm optimistic about it being productive.
My aims for this week are:

To really focus and push myself. Defo need to step things up a level and STOP letting myself get away with not working towards my Goal!

Jazz Hands!

This afternoon I went to the Wimbledon Theatre to watch my friend in Hairspray! It was excellent.

I'm a big Musical Theatre fan as I grew up watching Musicals with my Mum and Big Sister, a favourite of ours being The Sound Of Music.

I've been involved in performing arts ever since I could remember and started Ballet at the age of 3.
By the time I was 6, I went on to learn Tap,Singing and Acting and over the years learnt Flamenco, Modern Dance and Contemporary. At 16, I went on to study Musical Theatre at college.

Being at the performance today made me realise why I loved performing so much...It reminded me of being up there on the stage and the incredible rush you get!

One day I hope to be performing my own material on stage for thousands of people and singing my heart out. I know that if I work hard enough that Dream will come true...

Productive day in the Sun...

What a lovely day it was in London Town! The Sun was shining, people were a lot more pleasant and I was able to take out my gorge Dior sunnies. Summer's approaching woop woop!

So...I blogged earlier and one thing I mentioned was my task list. The question is did I reach my target? Answer is...Almost!


1. Start book on music business- Haven't done that just yet but will read a couple chapters before I hit the pillow and snuggle with my kitten Baileys.

2.Write at least 1 complete song- I did write today, but didn't finish the songs. I was sitting in Regents Park this afternoon and was sooo inspired! I brainstormed loads of concepts and matched some of them to the instrumentals I had on my iPod which will make my life nice 'n' easy when I get stuck in and write tomorrow.

3.Download Instrumentals- Check! There are quite a few songs out at the moment that I'm enjoying so I now have the instrumentals on my iPod.

4.Upload audio/video onto You Tube- Check! It took me a while but with the help from a friend I eventually managed.

The song is called 'Because Of You' and I wrote and recorded it a couple of weeks ago.I am planning to do an actual video of me singing along to the instrumental. I hope you enjoy...x

Bored!

I've been up since 5.15 because I had to train a client early this morning. On arrival home, I  felt so aggravated and bored!!
I know that I get bored easily...with life...people...work...and routine, so its important for me to keep switching things up in order to stay interested and stimulated.

Times like these motivate me to focus on what is truly important to me and that is my Singing Career.

My day isn't to hectic today so no excuses!! My set tasks for today are;

-start my book on the music business
-write at least 1 complete song
-upload song onto You Tube (video/vocals)
-download more instrumentals of popular songs

Dizzy!

Today wasn't my most arduous work day but it seemed it! During my sessions today I felt unwell...Slightly qweezy in my stomach and most definitely light headed!

I have no idea what it was but maybe I'm not eating right? I think I'll take a trip to a nutritionist at the end of the month.

Since getting home, I organised my I-Tunes and added some more music from an external hard drive.
I'm currently looking through my instrumentals to get some inspiration to write but can't really think of any topics!

Dedicated to Baileys...

Happy Monday Everyone...Well except for me!

I've wanted a Kitten since forever and it just so happened that I was fortunate enough to know somebody who had to give theirs up!
My Family were totally against it as they explained that they had developed allergies to Cats but I LOVE them so wasn't particularly bothered to be honest and as far as I knew I was OK so it was goodtimes!


I couldn't wait for the gorgeous Baileys to arrive I was sooo excited when I found out Iwas getting him yesterday.
After getting him settled I went to bed but woke during the night with a stuffy and nose and knew me and Baileys weren't off to great start. 
Things only seemed worse this morning which has made me terribly sad as he is the PERFECT Kitten :(


I went to work today knowing that my time with him would be short lived and I'm completely devastated.


I'll be song writing this afternoon as I have a little while before I have to leave out for my evening client so I'll be stroking him until I can no longer handle sneezing!

I guess my Family were right...Stupid allergies!!!

Recovering...

So last night was Friday woop woop! I went out to a club and had a great time :) Amazing tunes, awesome people and just an all round nice atmosphere...

After an eventful evening, I spent most of the day recovering from an extremely late night well more like early morning!
Today wasn't very productive at all! I just ate loads and hung out with my family...

Hopefully over the next few days I'll do better..xx

It's Friday!

Yaaay, the weekend has begun!

Today has been pretty mellow for me. My 7am client cancelled our session so I had a little lie as my next session wasn't until 11am.
I'm glad this week has come to end because this the last few weeks for me have been exhausting.

Tonight I will be letting my hair down and going out  to club! I feel like I haven't had a night out in ages...
For the rest of the evening i plan to do some cleaning, wash my hair, spend some time writing and then get ready to paarrrrtaaay! lol

Jamming Session with the Family!

This evening my brother and sister in law come over for dinner and we ended up discussing my music over the table. I got a little defensive because my brother insisted that "song writing is NOT difficult" and no it's not difficult all the time but there are days when nothing comes to mind and you're just uninspired!

I wanted to put his statement to the test so I decided to invent a song writing game...
The game consisted of me selecting 4 instrumentals of popular songs that i had on my computer and we all had to choose a group topic to write about . All we had was a pen, paper and our creativity! Let the lyrics flow!!!


My family were able to see the creative process of writing and It ended up being so much fun! They all had such great ideas (which will conveniently end up in my song book haha)

After our song writing challenge, I showcased a few of the songs I had written last week and they gave me such great feedback, I was really chuffed :)

I felt that over the last few days, my job had been taking centre stage leaving my music behind the scenes! I have definitely been lacking in motivation in regards to writing and tonight has absolutely opened a chapter for me...

Back in action...

Today was yet another busy day... My day started at 7am and I arrived home at 9pm!

On my arrival home, I felt so tired...and all I could think about was all the things I needed to do!
My solution was to ask my Mum (who is the coolest) to organise my tasks for the evening as I was completely stressing.

Thankfully, all the things I needed to do tonight are done! Woo Hoo!!! Which leaves me with an hour do to some songwriting and at midnight I'll head off to bed!...xx

Where has the day gone?

So I'm finally home after a loooong day at work, I literally got in at 21.50! How do I make time for everything? With such short breaks between clients and spontaneous training sessions being scheduled my music is craving some serious attention and is suffering!

I've been home for an hour and I've had a glass of juice, hopped in the bath, done some washing, sent work emails and now I'm sitting here in front of my computer blogging.
Is it me or are there just not enough hours in the day?
I'm very much aware that on days like these, coming home and writing or doing something constructive in order to reach my goals will show my dedication...but after such a long day (that is still not over) where do I fit in my writing, singing, reading? I recently purchased a book by Donald S.Passman- 'All You Need to Know About the Music Business' and I haven't even read the first page!!

I have a lot to do this week so hopefully I'll complete all my tasks!!......xx

Caught up!

I've totally been slacking with the blogging over the last few days! Work had me completely worn out and all i literally wanted to do was come home an jump in bed.

My music suffered towards the latter part of this week but I will start a fresh, with a positive outlook on the upcoming week and aim to be very productive, no matter how tired or caught up I may get.

On Saturday, I headed over to Somerset House for the "What's Next Songwriting Day". The event consisted of various people who have been involved in the music industry giving advice and discussing important topics such as, Copyright Laws, Time Management, Applying skills in different areas of the industry, Management, and a few other things. It was very interesting and i was able to take down some factual and valuable notes.
The event was also a great opportunity to be around like minded people and network.

This week I will be sure to update EVERYDAY, however brief the posts may be!

Worn out!

Today has been extremely busy and quite frankly, I'm EXHAUSTED!
I've been training clients from 10am until 17.45 and was literally nodding off on my tube journey home, how eeeeky!

I haven't had time to complete the song i started yesterday as today has just been GO GO GO, and with the next few days looking even busier I don't know when I will...but you can't have success without sacrifice so I'll have to make up the hours lost on a less busy day.

Tomorrow my schedule is crazy so wish me luck :)

Don't you LOVE when the Sun shines?

I'm totally loving the sunny weather in London at moment! Weather definitely affects your mood and this sudden outbreak of sunshine has left me feeling happy, vibrant and extremely positive.

On my travels to and from work, I finished the song I started yesterday and on my arrival home I sung and tweaked what i had come up with.

After enjoying some eggless pancakes, i decided to get back to writing and started a song about Travelling. There are so many places that I'd love to visit and explore, so i thought I'd write a song about it! I haven't finished it just yet but i have some great ideas and I'm hoping that it'll make everyone want to hop on plane ASAP!

I had a great conversation with a rapper/producer friend of mine and I will be recording a track with him on Friday which i am very excited about. Featuring on songs and working with different artists is an amazing experience. You get to dabble in genres that aren't necessarily your style but it gives you the opportunity to develop in all areas.
On that note, I will leave you with an Ambient House track that i featured on earlier this year.

No rest for the wicked!

So today is my first blog entry, how exciting! I'm hoping that this blog will enable me to vent and express how i'm feeling on daily basis.

Life as a Tracy Anderson Trainer can often be tiring but i won't complain as i get to train interesting people each day and generally have free time to focus on my passion...Music!

My day consisted of Work and giving my room a spring clean as i feel that being in a neat, organised environment helps clear your mind of distraction.
I managed to write 3/4's of a song which i will most definitely finish tomorrow and write another!
A moment ago I sang what i had written to my Mum and she loved it! I'm pretty sure she wins the trophy for my #1 Fan.
It really is amazing knowing that my Family and loved ones are so supportive of my career choice and have always been there pushing, encouraging and showing that they're behind me 100%.

Its 2011 and im stopping at nothing to make it a productive year and already, ive made some positive movements in the right direction. The weeks and days are flying by and time stops for no one so in the wise words of my elder brother "Lets get busy!!"
